This exciting event will bring together leading scientists in stem cell research, disease modelling, and drug discovery to share their latest breakthroughs and foster collaboration across academia, biotech, and pharma.

The organising committee includes Agnete Kirkeby, Joshua Brickman, Kim Bak Jensen, Jakub Sedzinski and Jonas V. Bagge from reNEW Copenhagen. The symposium is expected to feature speakers from all three reNEW nodes, including Christine Mummery from reNEW Leiden and based at Leiden University Medical Center and Kevin Watt from reNEW Melbourne and based at Murdoch Children's Research Institute.

Speakers:

  • Christine Mummery – Professor of Developmental Biology, NNF Center for Stem Cell Medicine - reNEW and Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands
  • Lorenz Studer – Founding Director, SKI Center for Stem Cell Biology and Enid A. Haupt Chair in Developmental Biology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA
  • Ludovic Vallier – Einstein Professor for Stem Cells in Regenerative Therapies, Berlin Institute of Health @Charité and Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, Germany
  • Peter Reinhardt – Principal Research Scientist II / Team Lead, Advanced Cell Technologies and Screening, Neuroscience Discovery Research, AbbVie, Germany
  • Lauriane Cabon – Group Lead - Applied Organoid Technologies, Roche Institute of Human Biology, Switzerland
  • Malene Ambjørn – Director, Functional & Cellular Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Lundbeck, Denmark
  • Henning Kempf – Head of Department, GEM CELL Hub, Novo Nordisk, Denmark
  • Kevin Watt – Team Leader, Heart Regeneration Laboratory, NNF Center for Stem Cell Medicine - reNEW and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia
  • More to be announced

Highlights:

  • Cutting-edge research on stem cell-derived disease models
  • Advances in organoid technology and 3D culture systems
  • Scalable platforms for drug screening and lead compound testing
  • Strategies for drug discovery and translation

Why Attend:

  • Engage with world-renowned experts and emerging voices
  • Discover new tools and technologies shaping the future of drug discovery
  • Network with peers and potential collaborators
  • Become an abstract selected presenter to showcase your own research

The symposium will take place on 23-24 April, 2026 in the Lundsgaard Auditorium at Panum. Join us to explore how stem cell technologies are redefining the landscape of biomedical research and therapeutic innovation.
