Associate Professor Antonella Dost joins reNEW Copenhagen

New PI

We are pleased to announce that Antonella Dost will set-up a lab at at reNEW Copenhagen as a new Principal Investigator.

Dr. Dost has a background in medical biology and stem cell research. Her lab will develop human lung organoid models to advance our understanding of lung regeneration and chronic lung diseases, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). COPD is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide and may affect up to 600 million people by 2050. Her goal is to translate the research into novel therapies that repair damaged lung tissue and restore lung regeneration.

‘‘What really stood out to me were the people. Being part of such a diverse and international environment naturally fosters open-mindedness, which I believe is essential for research. There is a shared vision, but also a great diversity of projects, which together inspire creativity and personal growth,’’ said Associate Professor Dost.

“We are so pleased that Nella has chosen to join reNEW, Copenhagen. We are looking forward to supporting her development as a principal investigator, the growth of her team and how she will make important discoveries in this understudied research field”, expressed Executive Node Director Kim B. Jensen.
